Low Income (<80% Median Income) $8000 for Heat Pump Systems

    • No Cash out of pocket, paid from state agency

 

Medium Income (80% to 150% Median Income) $8000 for Heat Pump Systems

    • Customer pays contractor for system, 50% rebate paid from state agency up to $8000

 

(The language in the bill allows for the rebates to take effect at the point of sale.)

High Income (150%+ of Median Income) $2000 Tax Credit (30% of Installed Price)

HIGH-EFFICIENCY ELECTRIC HOME REBATE ACT

Here are the caps on rebates for other upgrades made via the HEEHRA program:

  • $1750 for a heat pump water heater
  • $8000 for a heat pump for space heating and cooling
  • $840 for electric stoves, cooktops, ranges, ovens and electric heat pump clothes dryers
  • $4000 for an electric load service center upgrade
  • $1600 for insulation, air sealing and ventilation
  • $2500 for electric wiring

There is a $14000 cap on the dollar amount of rebates offered under the program. For instance, low-income homeowners can get up to 100% of electrification projects covered - up to the cap of $14000 in rebates - while middle-income consumers can get up to 50% of their costs covered by the rebates (also up to that $14000 cap).

ENERGY STAR FEDERAL TAX REBATES

Get a tax credit of 10% of cost up to $500 or a specific amount from $50-$300 on certain system installations. Must be within an existing home and your principal residence. New construction and rentals do not apply.
